Service, delivery and assembly
Personal attention
Carol, our designer and decorator, will give you personal attention, guidance and
advice in respect of your requirements. Simple or elaborate, formal or informal,
no job is too big or too small. You will find her friendly professional approach
and 'can do' attitude pleasing. A perfectionist by nature, Carol's attention to
detail will ensure your decorated cake is of the highest standard.
How to order your cake
We can successfully arrange your cake order via the telephone or the internet. You
may call at the Cakes Plus kitchen in Lane Cove for a free consultation to discuss
your requirements, or if you prefer Carol will come to you (conditions apply). Either
way, you will need to arrange an appointment well ahead of time to secure a date.
What to bring to your appointment
You may bring along your ideas, diagrams, cuttings and photographs of the cakes
you like, and Carol has a large array of Cake Decorating books for you to peruse
to help you decide on your preferred design. If you're thinking of a particular
colour scheme such as matching your bridesmaid's dresses, you should bring along
either material samples or colour swatches. An indication of your budget, the number
of people attending the reception, details of whether the cake is to be served with
coffee or as a dessert will also be required.
Sample taste test
Once we have agreement on the type of cake you require and its cost, we will bake
you a small sample to taste test the cake, its filling (if any) and the icing.
Quotation
We provide written quotations for all jobs, and we will ask you to sign an agreement
prior to our commencement. You will usually be requested to provide a 30% deposit,
with full payment of the balance due upon collection/delivery of your cake.
Delivery and assembly
Delivery of cakes and assembly at your reception venue is offered to Metropolitan
Sydney, North Shore and Eastern Suburb destinations - conditions apply.
Alternatively, if you desire, you can collect from our kitchen in Lane Cove. We
will box and pack your wedding cake, but you will need to use a vehicle with a flat
bottom such as a van, or hatch-back/wagon particularly if you are transporting a
large tiered cake.
Sometimes a tiered cake with a delicate filling does not lend itself to assembly
prior to the event. (The filling can make the cake tiers unstable and liable to
slide during transport.) While we prefer to assemble your filled cake at the reception
venue, we will provide you with written instructions for your caterers if you desire.
We can arrange air freight to other destinations within Australia - conditions apply.
